SierraLeone Book Drive: The Yak Foundation Fundraiser Appeal

Aiming to promote literacy and bring back the reading culture to Sierra-Leone, The Yak Jones Foundation has launched a fundraising appeal for $5,000 to finance the shipment of a 40ft container of books for all levels of learning including solar reading lamps to Sierra Leone.

The Yak Jones Foundation established by Dr. Mrs. Yakama Manty Jones was officially launched in May 2016 in partnership with Sierra Leonean fashion brand, Madam Wokie.
Following the launch, the foundation has made donations of books and educational materials to Cefsalone for Children in Dukono Village School, Nenie Chiefdom, Koinadugu and is planning presentations to other schools in need.

In conjunction with  the fundraiser, the foundation will be undertaking a book donation drive project to get as many people as possible to donate new books, gently used books or make monetary donations to buy books, that will then be distributed to learning institutions in need.
The long-term goal is to establish libraries in as many institutions as possible around the country and providing them with reading coaches.

For all this to happen your help is needed.
